The goal was simple: transform a complex financial indicator into a clear, empowering, and user‑friendly experience.

Understanding your credit score should be quick, intuitive, and stress‑free. We did a full redesign aimed at helping customers understand their score at a glance, see how they can improve it, and easily identify what they qualify for based on their credit profile.

This feature is currently live, with updates coming soon.

Audience

The redesigned credit‑score widget is intended for all platform users, regardless of financial literacy or familiarity with credit scoring. It supports both returning users looking for quick clarity and new users who need simple, accessible guidance to understand their credit profile at a glance.

Features

- Animated half‑moon dial that visualizes the credit score in an engaging and intuitive way.

- Clear signposts to help users interpret their score instantly.

- Actionable insights explaining how users can use and improve their score.

- Mobile‑optimized interface built for quick checking, smooth interaction, and effortless usability.

- Contextual guidance that clarifies what the user’s current credit range means for eligibility and financial opportunities.

Benefits

The redesigned widget offers a significantly more intuitive and user‑friendly experience, making it easier for users to understand their credit score at a glance. Clear credit‑range descriptions help demystify what their score means, while the mobile‑optimized interface improves accessibility and everyday usability.

Project highlight

This project created an opportunity to introduce a new interaction pattern: the feature drawer. A key challenge I considered was how to redesign a high‑value widget without disrupting user familiarity or causing confusion. When users become accustomed to a visual pattern, any change can feel abrupt or unsettling. By implementing a feature drawer, we were able to clearly announce the redesign and guide users through what had changed and why. This approach not only reduced the risk of frustration or fear but also helped educate users, ensuring the new experience felt intentional, supportive, and easy to adopt.

Key takeaways

This project reinforced the importance of thoughtful change management in UX. Redesigning a high‑value widget required not only improving the interface but also guiding users through the change with clarity and intention. By introducing the feature drawer, we were able to communicate the “why” behind the redesign, support users through the transition, and ensure the new experience felt intuitive rather than disruptive.

This was a reminder that good design is as much about communication as it is about visuals.
